Sadie's 2014

Indy got asked to Orem Sadie's by a girl who doesn't even go to Orem High. Long story…. But I was impressed that he actually went! And I think he even had a pretty good time.

Welcome home Madi!

Today was Madi Bernson's homecoming! It was so fun to hear about her mission and some of the humbling experiences she had. I know she was a fabulous missionary.

And now that means Montana doesn't have very much longer!!

The Bruners

Sister Bruner and I share those same unique thumbs!

Montana was recently transferred to Kirkland, WA. Her letters mention how much she loves her ward there---K4 as they call it. She says the members in the ward are so missionary-minded and so willing to help out at any time. Not even two weeks after she got there I got a random text on a Saturday night from a man named Wendell Bruner. He was a member in K4 and he and his wife were here in Utah visiting with family. He wanted to come visit with us. They had gotten to know Montana in the short time she'd been in their ward. And what an awesome visit it was! The Bruners are such great people! It was such a wonderful thing to know that they'd seen and been with Montana only a few days earlier. I sure appreciated the effort they made to come see us and tell us about some of the missionary experiences they have had with Montana recently.

Girls Trip

Last weekend Gina's mom passed away. She had had kidney failure for quite a few years but she recently got sick and just couldn't recover. Ralph and Joanne have been living in St. George for the past several years so that's where the funeral was going to take place. I hadn't planned on going down especially since the family had planned a 2nd memorial service in Salt Lake. But, as Lisa, Lisa, Marci and I began texting once we heard the news, we decided to make a quick, overnight girls trip to be with Gina for the funeral.

Although the occasion was sad and somber it was SOOO fun to be together with these 4 awesome lifelong friends. These are the ladies that have made me into the person I am today. These are the girls I spent most of my life with from the time I was in 6th grade. And, even though we don't spend very much time together, it's like no time has passed when we DO get together.

If you don't like the sight of blood...

then don't continue reading any further.

It was not a normal morning. I got Indy and Emerson off to school, went to get back in bed to read my scriptures when I got a text from Indy. He said there was a deer stuck in our neighbor's fence.  I actually thought he meant across the street. Well, he meant our next door neighbor. And the fence is right outside our garage side door.

It was not a pretty picture. The deer was still alive. It didn't impale itself. It was obviously jumping over the fence but its back leg didn't make it and then its hoof got caught in a rung. It had probably been stuck all night. Poor thing. You could tell it was really tired because it couldn't stand up any longer. I ran inside and called Orem Animal Control. They arrived within about 15 minutes. Obviously they had to put it down.

Not a fun way to start my day…

Hopefully it snows sooner than later to cover up all that blood.

Eyelashes no more

A new year is a good time to start out fresh right?? I don't know why but I decided to take off my eyelash extensions. Don't get me wrong. I really loved having them most of the time. But, some days, I wanted to pull them all out one by one!! And it wasn't all that fun to keep up with them. The girl who did mine was quite reasonably priced but it usually took 1 1/2-2 hours to get them filled about every month.

It was quite a shock to look in the mirror at first. But,  now---almost 2 weeks later,  it isn't as bad as I thought. I may actually keep them off for a while.
