It's official.......

I'm old! How can this be? I've just been going along with my life and, all of a sudden, I'm 40! I don't feel 40 although what does 40 feel like? I'm definitely not any smarter for being 40. But I am sure that the next 40 years will be just as good or better than the past 40!

Kurt brought me Daylight Donuts this morning to start the day and wrote the sweetest note listing 40 reasons why he loves me. It made me cry and is making me cry remembering the nice things he wrote. I am the luckiest woman in the world to have him. Kurt-you are the best, best, best husband in the world and I'm sorry I don't tell you that enough!

Bye bye kitten!

The kitten was returned to its rightful owners, the Youngs, last night. Emerson wasn't even home to see her go. But she can run right across the street if she needs to see her! Shayne had a sick look on her face as we gave her instructions on feeding. I don't think she's too excited!

Our latest addition...

Duke is excited for his new best friend! As of yesterday we have a new baby in the house... and no, it's not of mine or Kurt's making! Emerson and Paige Young found this two week-old kitten in a boat the Young's had borrowed from some friends and brought it home. How it got there is anyone's guess! After asking around with no luck, we determined we'd have to be its surrogate mother (for awhile anyway!).
The kids (and Kurt) take turns feeding it. It's eating every four or so hours so someone has a night shift! Emerson's pretty sure we'll cave in and keep it. But I'm not betting on it!

CORONADO

The Heaton family
The best family picture we have taken in a long time!

The sandcastle building was orchestrated by Denny and Brian.

Once again, for the 6th year in a row, we spent the 4th of July in Coronado with great friends! Our family looks forward to this vacation all year. The kids have such a great time running back and forth from the beach to the pool all day. The Masons lost their youngest Gus while we were at the park waiting for the fireworks. It was a little scary! Luckily we had lots of people looking for him and we found him about a half a mile down the bay!

She did it!!!!!

It seems like I have pictures posted just like this from about a year ago. Only this time Montana got her REAL drivers license!!! She said it was the best day of her life! Well, I have to say that it's heaven for me too. It's only been 2 days but it's great not having to drive her everywhere.

If you see a little red Jetta coming your way----WATCH OUT!! (she really is a good driver though).
