Last day of freedom

The kids were dying to do something fun for the last day of their summer vacation. We decided to ride the lift at Sundance and then hike down. I was planning on taking all 4 kids but it turned out that Montana had volleyball. Then something better came up for Indy. Finally Finn bailed on us to go swimming with friends. So it turns out that it was me, Emerson and Madeline. By the time we got up to Sundance it was later than we thought so we rode the lift up AND back down. Not entirely what we had planned but still fun nevertheless. The best part was getting a cookie!

Larger than life!

For a few months this past year, Emerson was on an APX billboard that was posted in a couple spots throughout the valley. We wanted to get an actual picture of the billboard but were never able to. So here she is in front of the poster of her billboard which is now hanging in our garage (of all places!).

And they're off......

I love watching the kids ride their bikes off to school in the morning. It makes me happy to see Emerson and Paige meet up and ride down the street together. Sometimes Cooper will ride with them, sometimes not.
Emerson is now our only child in Foothill. When we moved here to Orem, all four of our kids went to Foothill at the same time. Now we're down to one!

Giving Up

Okay, so many of you know, I have an addiction. Yes, I am admitting it........I have an addiction! So, last week, without really planning on it, I decided to try and quit drinking Diet Coke every day. I was at Education Week and HAD to settle for caffeine-free Diet Coke for lunch one day. I wasn't feeling too bad at the end of the day so I decided to not have a caffeinated DC the next day. Lo and behold, here I am at day 7 with no DC! The only day I really craved one was on Sunday after fasting all day. I will probably not go through life without ever having another Diet Coke but I am going to try and severely cut down on the number I drink each week. I'm so proud of myself!

First Day

Well, Indy is off to his first day of junior high. I think he was a little nervous but also a little excited. I only remembered to take a picture as he was already in the car! So I will have to get a picture as he comes home.

Quick Trip

Kurt took a quick trip to the ranch to do a little work on the new house. Montana and Finn were at youth conference and I had a birthday party to go to so he only took Indy, Emerson and Paige. I think they all had a great time even though it was only about 24 hours. And Paige only got homesick a little!

Duke LOVES the ranch!
