Work

Eliza and Mia killing time..

This week I was in southern California with Kurt while he was shooting a commercial for work.  Our first day we had the cutest models out there-----Eliza, Avery and Mia! They were so patient and did such a great job.

A little pizza reward at the end of the day isn't too bad!

Oh, and I guess Brett is pretty cute too! Washing up those dishes like a good dad!

I didn't realize that I would be on camera during the week as well…..

Playing around in downtown Laguna.

Just a little hair length comparison between Kurt and I.  Someone figured that I still have him beat by about half an inch even if you pull his down straight.

I'm really lucky to be able to work with Kurt every now and again. He works with some really fun people, the hours aren't too bad and the pay is good. All that and I get to be with Kurt all day---I'll take it!

Imagine Dragons

Pretty good seats I'd say...

Friday was Vivint's year-end party for all of its employees. Last year they threw a carnival and a Nitro Circus show. This year they had Imagine Dragons come to Energy Solutions Arena and do a private concert. I'm not a huge fan but their I'm familiar with the songs they play on the radio. But I have to say that I was impressed with the show they put on. Of course, Kurt and I were in the second row so that may have had something to do with it! I feel kind of guilty now that we didn't give up our seats to Emerson and Indy. They were still at the show but just not on the floor. I'm sure they will have plenty more chances to get good seats to a concert in this life....

Happy Birthday to me....

My birthday present was an unexpected surprise! Kurt got a bike a few months ago and hasn't even ridden his yet!! I knew we were going to look for one for me after all the missionary/summer vacation hoopla ended. So I was totally caught off-guard when this showed up on my birthday! I'm so excited to get all my gear and take advantage of the fall weather coming up.

NAB 2013

Got to see Jersey Boys! Loved it!

Visit to Fremont Street

Technically I guess I shouldn't title this post NAB 2013 because I don't actually attend the convention. But I'm lucky enough that I get to go with Kurt to Vegas while he attends! This year there were 2 guys (and wives) from his team there---Sean and Wayne. The weather wasn't the greatest unfortunately. But we still made the best of it!

The reason I was slacking on my motherly duties.....

I had to go with Kurt on a little work trip.

I had to watch movies with these two cuties on our way to Alabama, Tennessee and Florida.

I had to enjoy this beautiful view of the ocean from our hotel room.

And I had to enjoy time on this beautiful beach with my sweetie.

It was really rough but i survived.

The whole story is that Kurt and Sean (a friend on his media team at Vivint) were asked by the Pedersens to go back to where Andie grew up and do some filming for their family history. Andie asked if I would like to come along. It was so nice of them to have me. We really did have a fun time. All of the Pedersen kids are so sweet and fun to be with. It was so interesting to see where Andie grew up and meet so many of her family members.

And....I learned that I could get used to flying on a private plane.

Everything under the sun

A little bit of what has been going on lately.  In no specific order...
Dinner and a movie---single girl style.

It's Friday and I should be excited about that but the fact that Kurt is gone AGAIN makes it a lot less exciting. Last Friday when he was gone I headed up to Salt Lake to the Dickens Christmas Festival, hit the new outlets in Lehi and then came home by 9 to watch a movie----all by myself. Most of the time I don't mind hanging out by myself but 2 weekends in a row is no fun!

Waffle Love and Decadance---heaven!
Can you tell I'm a foodie?? If Kurt is gone I seek entertainment in food. Thank goodness to my parents for super good genes or I could be really fat!

Focus on the polish not my unattractive hands.

I've said this before.....I'm no girly-girl. But I like to get festive once in a while with some sparkly nails!

Tuesday night we went over to Vivint to help out with their Sub-for-Santa night. They sent Emerson and I to Target to do some shopping for a couple of families. We picked up some Barbie clothes and I wanted to see how much they were. The above picture is what came up on the price-checker screen. How hilarious is that! I couldn't resist an Instagram post about that....

Montana, Emerson and I couldn't resist making a Christmas card that we WISH we had the guts to send out. It's unfortunate you can't see the pictures better. Also, notice Indy is not in the picture. We would've sent it out with no comment about him at all. Wouldn't that leave friends and family guessing....or laughing.....or questioning what is going on at our house???!!

Love it!

The kids looking at an iPhone.

I got all of Kurt's Ghana pictures on my computer and told him he needed to post about his experience there.  Of course he didn't get a chance to do it before he headed out of town again. But, in the meantime, this is one of my favorite pictures from his trip.

You know you're getting old when....

....you think it's okay to tape your glasses together like this.  However, this is an improvement from just resting the two halves of your glasses on the sides of your nose (which went on for about 3 weeks)!

The Zombie Life

That clock says 10:00----10:00 AM!

If you know Kurt very well then you know that he loves zombies----zombie movies, zombie books, anything having to do with zombies.
Well, for the past 2-3 weeks, he has been living the zombie life. He has been working on hard on all his year-end projects for Vivint. He hasn't come home before 1 or 2 am but still jumps out of bed by 9 to get back to work. This has included Saturdays and even a few Sundays. Yesterday he came home at 6 am, didn't really sleep but got up at 10 am to go back.

Luckily last night he finally got to show off all the videos. They were all so awesome. Kurt is so talented! I only wish people truly appreciated the time and hard work that goes in to a little 5 minute video.
Love you Kurt! You're a rock star!

What's up lately

Pumpkin pull-apart bread
I love fall for many reasons. One of the things fall makes me want to do is bake! It's not always good for the waistline.  If I start restricting calories now I can maybe justify the number of doughnuts I will consume on Halloween.

Emerson has been busy crafting! She made the cute Halloween banner. The mess she made in the craft room-----not so cute.

It seemed that Homecoming was barely over before Finn was asked to Sadie's.  I love school dances---such fun high school memories.

pictures in wrong order...oops!

For FHE a couple weeks ago we made the trek to City Creek. It's a great mall for the girls but Finn doesn't really love any stores there. So we ran over to Gateway for him. You can always count on getting a good laugh at something (a book, gadget or toy) in Urban Outfitters. I may have to buy Kurt these giant foam hands for his birthday.

Emer is my little chef-in-training. She LOVES to cook and help me in the kitchen whenever I ask.  One night she took over dinner completely and made this whole-wheat pizza with fresh basil and tomatoes from our garden. It was delicious!

We haven't had too many families dinners lately because of crazy schedules but, when we do, we all fight over baby Atticus. Or as Kurt has dubbed him "fatticus". Sorry, Linz. It's an endearing nickname for sure. That big little belly was being squeezed in that shirt a little too tightly. We sure love the babies in our family.

Bonneville Salt Flats

Kurt has been busy shooting year-end videos for work the past couple of weeks.  He happened to have me working for him the day they headed to the Salt Flats. I remember going there when I was a little girl. What a weird place! My brain couldn't quite wrap around the fact that all the salt for miles in every direction looked like snow but the weather was 80+ degrees and sunny.

Father's Day 2012

I am pretty lucky to have such great fathers in my life. I realize the older I get that I married a man who is just like my dad in so many ways.
Our life together these past 20+ years has been pretty great. I so appreciate the father Kurt is to our children.
And we can't go very many days without missing Pat. Our lives are much too quiet without him. I'm sure he is slapping backs and laughing that loud, hearty laugh in heaven!

The Break after the Break....

Tim, Sean, Michael and me waiting to see Mystere.

So......I haven't posted any pictures of our Spring Break because 1) I don't have any and 2) it was fun but a little stressful so I'd rather not think about it too much!

But, lucky for me, Kurt had to go to a conference in Las Vegas the Monday following the break. So, instead of going home, we sent the kids home by themselves and we drove to Vegas for a few days. The weather was perfect (unlike most of Spring Break). We got to go out to eat, shop and sit by the pool. It was slightly more relaxing than the week before!

And who can resist a ride on the roller coaster at New York New York! We hadn't ridden that thing in a long time. Not the smoothest ride I must say but pretty darn fun.

21 Years

Hard to believe it's been 21 years that we have been married. I really do feel like the luckiest girl around. Kurt is thoughtful, patient, kind, talented, creative, loving, righteous, honest, non-judgmental and too many other good qualities to mention. Looking forward to growing old(er) together. Love you babe.

And while we're on the subject...

of time-suckers, instagram is Kurt's addiction. He is taking pictures non-stop. Check him out if you're interested--his name is ohhale.
