Wasatch Back 2009
This past weekend, I ran the Wasatch Back with a group of girls from my neighborhood. We had a team of 6 girls and 6 guys. The race starts in Logan and goes 188 miles to end in Park City. Each runner runs 3 different times with total mileage from 13 to about 18-19 miles. I was runner #5 and my 3 legs were 7.4, 4.5, and 2.5 miles.
This is about the only picture I have of me-----and it's not even me running!
We were supposed to be support for Raquel while she was running but had to take some time out to stretch!!!!!
This picture was taken at the end of my first leg in Avon Pass. It was so beautiful! The funny part about this picture is that about a second later the fence broke and everyone (but me) fell flat on their backs in the weeds! Another van full of runners was passing by at the precise moment we fell and found it quite amusing!

SAFE AND SOUND
My boys made it home safe and sound yesterday afternoon! They experienced every type of weather but heat! It snowed for a bit the first day. It rained and hailed and was cold. But they made it and I am so proud of them. I wish I would have been there to pick them up and get some pictures because I can't imagine what they looked like after 5 days of hiking and camping! Grandpa Brian was so excited to learn that they were camping on Boulder. Today he was even sharing some of his experiences in the same area when he was young. Good job boys! I am glad you are home.

50 Miler
This morning, at 6 a.m., Finn and Indy left to go on their 50 mile hike on Boulder Mountain. They kept saying they didn't want to go but I think that they were actually excited to go. It's going to be hard for sure but they will do a great job. I know I will be worried all week whether they are freezing to death or whether they are eating enough. But I feel much more comfortable knowing Mike Young is with them---not just because he's a doctor but because he will take care of my boys like I would.
GOOD LUCK BOYS!

Gold Medal Weekend
Indy had a great weekend at the Utah Summer Games in Cedar City. His team, Northern United FC took the gold for the U12 boys! He missed the first two games because of Grandma June's funeral but he played the next three and they won those three games. Way to go Indy!

Grandma's Obituary
June Daniels England 1920 ~ 2009 June Daniels England, selfless to the end, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2009, just the way she would like it, surrounded by her family. June was born on June 1, 1920 to Rex and Daisy Daniels in Austin, Utah. Being the oldest of four children, she developed nurturing and domestic skills which she used throughout her life to bless her family. Family dinners were never complete without her famous "June Juice" (super strong Kool-Aid). She married Eugene K. England on December 30, 1940, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised their six sons. June was always a devoted and extremely proud mother. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. Gene and June have 35 grandchildren and 37 great-grand children. Every single one was special to June as evidenced by the hundreds of pictures that adorned her home. Service was a common theme in her life. She cherished her 27 years of serving in the Oncology Department at Primary Children's Medical Center. Not only did she love the children, she enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the doctors, nurses and other volunteers at the hospital. In 2006, June was recognized as one of the "Health Care Heroes" in the State of Utah. June was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived a Christ-like life by loving and serving others. She used her leadership skills to serve faithfully as a Relief Society President under three different bishops. June not only loved to serve others, she loved to throw a party. She was the acknowledged "social director' by her many friends, organizing countless great events including the annual St. George trip. June had many talents. She loved music and especially enjoyed performing in choirs and with her dear friends in a singing group called "The 16th Notes". Her many hobbies included gardening, bowling and golfing. Her favorite pastime, however, was travelling across the country in a semi truck with her husband, Gene, at the wheel. Being a wonderfully devoted wife, if Gene was happy, then June was happy. She was an amazing example of love and support throughout their life together. June, as your loving family we thank you for your tremendous example. We will miss you terribly as the heart and soul of our family, but we have peace in knowing that we will be together again. She is survived by her husband, Eugene K. England, sons, Jeff (Pat), Dan (Jan), Dean (Kim), Todd (Jeannette), Corey (Carrie), daughter-in-law, Rowena England, siblings, Daisy Dean (Joseph) Hanks, Tina Lou Walton, Rex (Phyllis) Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Daisy Daniels, son, Rodney, grandson, Riley England and brother-in-law, Robert Walton.

Grandma June 1920-2009
Grandma June passed away Saturday morning. She had just turned 89 on June 1. She had been very healthy until just a few years ago. She was starting to have some dementia and fell down the stairs at her house a couple times in the last few months. They rushed her to the hospital Saturday morning. She had pneumonia and a serious urinary tract infection. All her organs had shut down at that point.
We had seen her about 2 weeks before. She and Granddad had come to dinner at Mom's so that was the last chance we had to visit with her. I was remembering with Uncle Corey last night how much time I spent with Grandma, Granddad, Corey and Todd when I was young. I remember several trips to Jackson Hole in the camper. I remember many Sunday dinners and Grandma's yummy roast. I remember many Christmas mornings at Grandma's opening presents and stuffing ourselves with aebleskivers.
I appreciate your wonderful example of service to Granddad and your six sons. I will miss you!
